10:37AM: The Nashville Predators acquire Andrei Kostitsyn from the Montreal Canadiens for a second-round pick in 2013 and a conditional fifth-round pick, also for 2013. The conditional pick is the same pick that Nashville received from the Canadiens in the Hal Gill trade earlier this year. Andrei Kostitsyn has 12 goals and 12 assists and is minus eight in 53 games with the Canadiens this season.

11:17AM: Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke addressed the team’s goaltending situation, saying he doesn’t plan to make any changes and that he has full confidence in James Reimer. He has also stated that he will most-likely re-sign Mikhael Grabovski.

11:37AM: Ben Bishop, the 6-foot7 beast of a goaltender, is still on the Ottawa Senators. This blogger is still ecstatic.

11:43AM: Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke’s tie is already undone. We debate on whether it was ever tied up in the first place.

11:49AM: TSN’s top five on their “Trade Bait” list include: Rick Nash, Columbus Blue Jackets; Paul Gaustad, Buffalo Sabres; Daniel Winnik, Colorado Avalanche; Sami Pahlsson, Columbus Blue Jackets; and Luke Schenn, Toronto Maple Leafs.

12:03PM: The Winnipeg Jets have claimed Grant Clitsome off of waivers. The Montreal Canadiens claim Brad Staubitz. That’s the second move of the day for the Canadiens. Staubitz. Players who have cleared waivers: Brian Rolston, New York Islanders; Eric Boulton, New Jersey Devils; Ryan Russell, Columbus Blue Jackets; Krys Kolanos, Calgary Flames.

12:25PM: Nothing.

12:37PM: TSN’s Bob McKenzie says things are “crazy quiet” right now. He expects things to pick up, though.

12:40PM: The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired defenseman Mike Commodore from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional seventh-round draft pick. This makes one think why this wasn’t done earlier as one package deal with Kyle Quincey. The Lightning add to their depth of hair.

12:57PM: The Edmonton Oilers’ Twitter feed states that they have acquired defenseman Nick Schultz from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Tom Gilbert.

1:12PM: Less than two hours until deadline. Three trades have occured. It’s looking like it’ll be busier during off-season.

2:55PM: Left to play a hockey game. Came back to these trades: Toronto Maple Leafs acquire Carter Ashton and from the Tampa Bay Lightning for Keith Aulie. The San Jose Sharks acquire Daniel Winnik, T.J. Galiardi, and a seventh-round draft pick from Colorado for Jamie McGinn, Mike Connolly, and Michael Sgarbossa. The Ottawa Senators acquire Matt Gilroy from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Brian Lee. The Vancouver Canucks acquire Sami Pahlsson from the Columbus Blue Jackets for two fourth-round draft picks in 2013. The Chicago Blackhawks acquire Johnny Oduya from the Winnipeg Jets for a second and third-round draft pick in 2013.

3:01PM: Brian Rolston finds out from Sportsnet that he’s been traded to the Boston Bruins. Paul Gaustad of the Buffalo Sabres is believed to have been dealt to the Nashville Predators.

3:04PM: Confirmed – Paul Gaustad is now a Predator. Matt Motteau added in the deal with Rolston. No confirmation on what the New York Islanders gave up.

3:12PM: The Boston Bruins pick up Greg Zanon from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Steve Kampfer.

3:17PM: Gaustad  and a fourth-rounder went to Nashville for their first-round pick. The Chicago Blackhawks send John Scott to the New York Rangers for a fifth-round draft pick.

3:20PM: Toronto Maple Leafs acquire Mark Fraser from the Anaheim Mighty Ducks for Dale Mitchell.

3:30PM: Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke addresses the media to address their deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning and to confirm that no other deals were made by the team.

3:34PM: The Buffalo Sabres trade Zack Kassian and Marc-Andre Gragnani to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Cody Hodgson and Alexander Sulzer.

3:50PM: Cody Hodgson on the phone with TSN – is “shocked” and only found out about the trade “five minutes ago.”.

3:54PM: Zack Kassian on the phone now with TSN. Thanks Buffalo and looks forward to playing for a Canadian team. Says the Canucks can expect to see a physical playmaker. Still seems caught of guard by the situation.

3:58PM: The Anaheim Ducks acquire Sebastian Erixon in exchange for Andrew Gordon.

4:00PM: Calgary Flames general manager Jay Feaster addresses the media to confirm that the team isn’t making any moves today. Thanks for that update, Jay.

4:05PM: The Hockey Dekely calls it a deadline. Thanks for tuning in. Follow us on Twitter.
